Community Safety Services UK will run projects to make towns, villages and parishes safer. Our first project is "Number the UK"" so that emergency services can find your property faster in an emergency.
CSS will support the police, neighbourhood watch schemes, NHS ambulance and air ambulances.

Why is "Number the UK" the first project and why is it so important?
A UK man died recently choking on a piece of toast.
The ambulance crew found the street easy enough but the houses were not numbered so they lost valuable time trying to find the house. Unfortunately that extra time it took to find his house cost him his life.
This is any every day problem for emergency services and that wasted time can effect your recovery or cost you your life! Its vital that every single property is numbered correctly with clear, easy to read numbers

The NHS ambulance Trust and police are appealing to people to number their properties correctly to save time finding your property and save lives

The Welsh Ambulance Service is also appealing for people to display their house name or number prominently to help save lives.

"We need to get to 999 calls as quickly as possible. Sometimes if a house does not have its name or number clearly displayed there is a delay in us reaching the patient. “It's vital that all properties display their number clearly and that it is visible from the road."
